WAY TO GO, BULLDOGS!

We are GREEN!!!!!

After two years of hard work and the dedicated efforts of many, many people, St. Martin’s finally received notification that we are now officially a MARYLAND GREEN SCHOOL! The requirements to meet this certification are really quite strict and very time consuming. We are proud that so many parents, teachers, Board members, and of course our top-notch students, made this goal a reality. Particularly we want to thank Mr. Daniel Clark, our MS Science teacher, who chaired the committee and had his 6^th grade class also working diligently on the project. There are far too many people to thank personally, but you know who you are, and we sincerely thank you.

I am pleased you are taking this opportunity to take a closer look at St. Martin's Lutheran School. In a Christ-centered community, the teachers and staff of St. Martin's foster spiritual and academic excellence in our students every day, in lots of ways. I would invite you to come and see - come for a visit, perhaps tour our building, and meet some of our outstanding faculty and talk with some of our students.

St. Martin's Lutheran School is a school where people make meaningful and lasting connections: student to student, student to teacher, and teacher to parent. This will become evident to you when you see how the students treat each other. Notice also how they treat their teachers and how they are treated in return. We want you to know that we take special pride in providing a safe, respectful and nurturing climate for all who walk our halls. Academically we believe we are second to none.

School History

St. Martin's Lutheran Church School began in 1963 as a nursery school for four-year-olds. A kindergarten for five-year-olds was added. In keeping with St. Martin's desire to provide quality education within a Christian atmosphere, grade 1 was added in 1970, grades 2 and 3 were added in 1971, grade 4 in 1972 and grade 5 in 1973. In September 1974 we added grade 6 and opened our new wing. With the addition of the pre-kindergarten for 3-year olds, St. Martin's was able to offer nine levels of preschool and elementary education.
